Good morning. Can I have your full name, please?
You
Good morning. My name is Nino Beridze and my friends call me Nini.
Examiner
Let's talk about where you live. Do you live in a house or an apartment?
You
I live in a apartment in the centre of Tbilisi with my parents and my younger brother. It is very good place because there are many cafés and shops nearby, and the metro station is only five minutes on foot.
Examiner
What do you like most about your neighbourhood?
You
The thing I like most is that everyone knows each other. Our neighbours are very kind and they always helps us if we need something, like when the electricity was cut last winter.
Examiner
Now I'd like you to describe a place you often visit. You have one minute to prepare, and then you should talk for one to two minutes.
You
One of my favorite place is a small café near my university. I go there every weekend because it is quiet and I can study there without any interruption. The café is owned by a old couple, and they makes the best coffee in the city.
You
I usually order a cappuccino and a piece of homemade cake, and I sit near the window so I can look at the street. Sometimes I stay there for many hours, and I do lot of things — I read, I write in my journal, and I prepare for my classes. It is really relaxing and I feel very comfortable there.
You
The main reason why I like this place is because of the atmosphere. It's very cozy, the music is soft, and the staff are super nice. I think everyone should have a place like this where they can escape from the daily routine.
Examiner
Let's talk more generally. Why do you think cafés have become so popular among young people?
You
I think there is many reasons. First of all, young people wants a place that is not home and not office where they can meet friends or work on their laptops. Also, cafés today are very Instagrammable, so people go there to take photos and share on social media.
Examiner
Do you think this trend will continue in the future?
You
Yes, I definitely think so. Even after the pandemic, people still want to go outside and be in a nice environment. Working from home is good but it can be very boring, so cafés will continue to be a good option for many peoples.
